58 -- SUPPLEMENTARY SPECIAL NOTICE TO VENDORS CONCERNING THE NAVY'S PLAN TO CONTRACT FOR FUTURE BASE TELECOMMUNICATION SUPPORT AND A VENDOR OPEN FORUM POC Contact Ms Yvonne Smith 202/433-2371, DSN 288-2371/Contract Specialist, Mr. Lou Masciocchi 202/433-3865, DSN 288- 3865/Contracting Officer This synopsis is a supplementary announcement to a previous synopsis published in late December 1994, requesting vendor input to the Navy's plan for contracting for future base telecommunications support under the Naval Telecommunications Infrastructure Project (NAVTIP). The Navy, in conjunction with the North American Telecommunications Association (NATA) and the United States Telephone Association (USTA), is making this request to instill industry ideas into a Navy acquisition approach. To this end, the Navy is hosting a free OPEN VENDOR FORUM, to be held at the Washington Navy Yard Officer's Club, Crystal Room, on 2 February 1995, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Washington Navy Yard is located at 901 M Street SE, Washington, DC 20374. The morning agenda will include remarks from key officials managing the project, followed in the afternoon by an open discussion between industry and government.
