The U.S. Army Engineer Division, Huntsville has a requirement for the procurement, site preparation, and installation of an infectious/pathological waste shredder/grinding unit for Moncrief Army Community Hospital, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The infectious/pathological waste is currently steam sterilized and removed by the post waste disposal contractor for incineration. The requested shredder/grinding unit would be required to make that treated waste totally recognizable so that it can be disposed of with the general solid waste. The shredder/grinding unit will be installed in the current location of the retort/autoclave sterilizer with area dimensions of 18 x 28 x 10. A Firm Fixed Price contract shall be awarded as a result of this solicitation. A technical proposal shall be required from all offerors. The solicitation will be issued on or before 27 Jan 95.
