Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratories of Miami,
Florida has a requirement for seven double armored conductor data
cables for the purpose of under-sea deployment. Must be the #20 AWG
multistranded beryllium copper wire cables, with at least .014 inches
of insulation. The electrical characteristics shall be no greater that
10.5 ohms per 1000/ft @ 68 degrees F. The core of the cable shall have
the conductors twisted with semiconductive material filling the voids.
The armor should be two layers of galvanized plow steel, each layer of
armor to be at least 18 strands. The minimum breaking strength to be
greater than 12500 lbf, the working load shall be greater that 5000
lbf, the bend diameter shall be less that 25 inches, and the elongation
shall be less than 1.5 ft/kft/klbs. Bid documents will be available on
or about February 3, 1995. All responsible sources may submit a bid
