J -- DRYDOCK & REPAIRS USCGC MONHEGAN (WPB 1305) AND USCGC NANTUCKET (WPB 1316) 110 FOOT ``A'' CLASS PATROL BOATS Sol. DTCG80-95-B-3FA754. Due 022195. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform routine Drydock and Repair to the USCGC MONHEGAN (WPB 1305) and USCGC NANTUCKET (WPB 1316). Baee Items to be performed include but are not limited to the following: 1. Inspect MDE Flex-Coupling. 2. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft. 3. Stern Tube Bearing. 4. Intermediate Strut Bearing. 5. Main Shaft Strut Bearing. 6. Remove and Reinstall Propeller. 7. Inspect and Repack MDE Exhaust 8 inch Flapper Valves. 8. Preserve the Transducer Hull Rings and Renew the Depth Indicating Transducers. 9. Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves. 10. Inspect and Overhaul Duplex Sea Strainers. 11. Remove and Reinstall Rudder and Overhaul Steering Gear Components. 12. Remove and Dispose of Diesel Fuel Tanks (up to 7,000 gallons). 13. Provide New Diesel Fuel. 14. Coating System thickness measurements. 15. Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tank(s). 16. Sewage Tank (3-17-O-W), (496 gallon capacity). 17. Clean Inspect and Disinfect potable Water Tank(s). 18. Inspect and maintain Cathodic Protection System. 19. Provide Breakfast. 20. Provide Lunch. 21. Provide Dinner. 22. Provide Temporary Berthing. 23. Provide Temporary Logistics. 24. Routine Drydocking. 25. Install Additional Support Framing (SHIPALT No. 110-B-045). 26. Renew Bulwark Supports (MONHEGAN). 27. Renew Sewage Tank Plating (MONHEGAN). 28. Repair Forward Void Space (MONHEGAN). 29. Fabricate and Install Bronze Sleeves in various Shaft Packing Areas. 30. Hydroblast Sewage and Grey Water Piping. 31. Modify Anchor Windlass and Hawse Pipe Arrangement (SHIPALT NO. 110-A-040). 32. Overhaul Appleton Marine Electro-Hydraulic Crane. 33. Mechanically Clean and Preserve Forward Peak Tank and Chain Locker. 34. Preserve Main Deck. 35. Preserve Bilge Areas below Fin Stabilizers. 36. Preserve Freeboard. 37. Install .50 Caliber Machine Guns and Mounts (SHIPALT NO. 110-A-047). Option Items to be performed include but are not limited to the following: 1. Welding Repairs. 2. Inspect and Install Government Furnished Propulsion Shaft. 3. Straighten Propeller Shaft. 4. Repair Propeller. 5. Repair Propeller Root Erosion. 6. Balance Propeller. 7. Renew Rudder Bearing. 8. Repair Rudder Stock. 9. Renew Lower Fin Stock Bearing, 10. Repair Stabilizing Fin Stock. 11. Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks. 12. Preserve Underwater Body (Total Underwater Area is 3,300 sq. ft.). 13. Preserve Sewage Tanks and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks(s). 14. Preserve Potable Water Tank(s). 15. Renew Reference Electrode. 16. Renew Cathodic Anode. 17. Repair Capastic Fairing (10 sw. ft.). 18. Provide Breakfast. 19. Provide Lunch. 20. Provide Dinner. 21. Additional Temporary Berthing. 22. Ultrasonic Testing. 23. Additional Temporary Logistics. The USCGC MONEGAN's availability is scheduled for 10 April 1995 and USCGC NANTUCKET's availability is scheduled for 10 July 1995. The performance period for each vessel is forty-two (42) calendar days. Large and Small Businesses are encouraged to submit bids. There is no geographic restriction. Solicitation (IFB) is anticipated to be issued on or about 20 Jan. 1995. There will be a non-refundable charge of $100.00 required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the United States Coast Guard for requested drawings and publications. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
