- Description
- Minimum 72 inch long x 24 inch wide and no more than 4 inch thick. Minimum weight per single spanner 20,000lbs (40,000lbs per pair/axle) total weight minimum of each spanner is 78lbs EA. Rated capacity shall be no more than 50% of failure strength (at least a 2-to-1 safety factor). Failure strength is determined by the amount of weight that causes permanent deformation of the aluminum. Meaning that an 80,000 axle can be placed on a pair of spanners before any permanent deformation of aluminum appears. Minimum structure tubes 3 inch x3 inch and no more than 4 inch x4 inch. Top surface of spanner will be composed of maximum 2 inch wide high-traction rungs. The rungs shall be spaced no more than 4 inch to allow tiedown chains or straps to be routed between the rungs and over the structural tubes also spacing allows for debris to fall through. Must have reinforced kickplate on one side to rest on flat/ unobstructed surface. Minimum 12 inch heavy duty reinforced stub toe on each end: taper to 2 inch blunt end, knife end not acceptable, Each spanner must be etched with part number and capacity.
