Description
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. Portfolio Acquisition Executive � Marine Corps (PAE-MC), Program Manager Combat Support Systems (PM CSS), Product Manager Combat Service Support Equipment (PdM CSSE), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole-source basis in accordance with 10 United States Code (U.S.C.) �3204 (a)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(b)(ii) �Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements,� to Danner, Inc., 17634 NE Airport Way, Portland, OR 97230, for a quantity of 500 pairs of specialized 75mm ski boots to support the Military Ski System (MSS) and enhance the mobility and operation effectiveness of Marines operating in extreme cold weather and mountainous terrain. The boot must provide thermal protection and rugged durability essential for sub-zero deployments, enhancing the mobility and operational effectiveness of Marines in snowy, mountainous, and arctic environments. The boot must be compatible with the Voile Switchback telemark binding system. Below are some of the key performance features. - Binding Compatibility: Shall feature a 75mm ""duckbill"" toe design. - Operating Temperature: Shall enable the wearer to operate in conditions between 40� F and -25� F (Threshold); 40� F and -40� F (Objective). - Shall weigh no more than 8 lbs. (size 10). - Shall have a removable inner bootie for faster drying. - The outer boot shall be more than 9 inches and no more than 11 inches. - Shall be waterproof, or highly water resistant, to prevent melted snow and water from penetrating into the boot. The Government anticipates award of a single Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) purchase order. Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C. � 4862) is applicable to this acquisition. This is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. No formal solicitation package is available. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in responding to this notice; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements no later than 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 26 May 2026. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 316210, Footwear Manufacturing. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 8430, Footwear, Men�s.
