- Description
- *** Please ensure to read the attached flyer thoroughly for further information and instructions. *** Title of Event: Ground Based Radar Digitization Program On Site Visit Industry Day Audience: Industry Representatives When: 22 Apr 2026, 9:00am-1:00pm Central Standard Time/Local (CST) Where: Cavalier Space Force Station, 12810 91st St NE, Cavalier, ND 58220 RSVP: Required no later than 3 Apr 2026, 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). Late requests will not be honored due to security processing contraints of hosting location. Background: Strategically positioned around the globe, the United States Space Force's Ground Based Radars (GBRs) form a critical line of defense within the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDs). These long-range, all-weather radars, located at Thule AB (Greenland), Beale AFB (California), Cape Cod SFS (Massachusetts), Clear SFS and Eareckson AS (Alaska), Cavalier SFS (North Dakota), and RAF Fylingdales (United Kingdom), provide vital early warning, tracking, and classification data for incoming ballistic missiles. Beyond early warning, the GBRs provide Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) to the National Command Authority and support the Space Surveillance Network. GBRD supports the National Defense Strategy by continuing missile warning (MW), missile defense (MD), missile tracking (MT), and improving space domain awareness (SDA) capabilities. The Program will: Digitize eight radar sites to improve space domain awareness capabilities and address sustainment challenges and obsolescence. Enhance radar performance, including increased tracking capacity, extended range, and improved object classification. Transition to a government-owned, modular open system architecture with a high level of commonality between all radar back ends Add Missile Defense to PARCS Purpose. United States Space Force (USSF) is seeking information from Industry regarding the modernization of Ground Based Radars (GBRs) under GBRD. This effort aims to digitize legacy radar systems to enhance space domain awareness, reduce sustainment costs, and address obsolescence issues. The USSF is particularly interested in solutions that: Leverage open system, non-proprietary architectures to ensure future scalability and avoid vendor lock. Utilize Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology to minimize development risks and costs. Incorporate Cybersecurity compliance for modernized radar systems This event is intended to: Ensure synergy between the GBRD Program Office and Industry Allow Industry to provide feedback contributing to the requirements development process Learn more about the GBRD Program requirements and schedule Gain a better understanding of recent Industry developments and commercial opportunities Give Industry the opportunity to visit this unique weapon system This Industry Day event features a site ordination focused on the GBRD Program and to provide valuable learning opportunities and understanding of the current GBRs (technologies). Each interested offeror will be allowed a maximum of one person to attend and will only be permitted to enter the Restricted Area (RA) during assigned times. Offerors will be expected to comply withall Site Security Requirements requirements set forth in the attached Site Security Requirements. All individuals entering the RA are subject to a background investigation Points of Contact: tracy.anderson.4@spaceforce.mil and syd85.bal.gbrd@spaceforce.mil
