- 36C24626B0001 Replace MRI 1.5T Amendment 0001 Responses to Vendor Questions Could you please confirm whether the new 1.5T MRI system has already been procured by the VA, or if the Department intends to issue a separate solicitation for the equipment? The new MRI Machine has not been procured by the VA at this point. Radiology/Bio-Medical plans to submit the package to NAC by December 31,2025. We would also like confirmation if the site visit listed for today was deemed mandatory for a compliant bid. No Is the floor recessed? No, per As-Built drawings, there is a built-up floor above the existing RF Shielding that will need to be removed. See Sheet A101 in forthcoming Addendum 01. May we avoid the pillar on the south wall by making the shield go straight across without having to go around the pillar? A straight, uninterrupted wall with no bump-out is acceptable, with the following requirements, however, the design intent of wrapping the column does not change with the RFI response: ABA clearances around the doors are to be maintained. The 1 ¾ RF Wall Panel and 4 1/8 Gypsum on Wood Stud wall are to remain continuous throughout the entire length of the wall. No interruptions. May we have a .dwg file? The awarded contractor will have access to all the CAD files that they need. What type of magnet hatch for delivery:� side or ceiling and its location? If referring to the removal and installation of the old and new machine, then it is a side delivery. This is located on the west side of the building with the loading dock. Do we know that Siemens has confirmed that there will be no active interference between the two MRI systems?� We have the ability to quote magnetic compensation but need to know if it's necessary. Response forthcoming in additional amendment. Solicitation Bid submission: Will the Government authorize electronic bid submissions? Please refer to the Instructions to Offerors page on bid submission. Lay-down and dumpsters: where will the lay-down and dumpsters area be located? Ideally, the best area for a lay-down and dumpster location is on the West-side (loading docks) of the MRI Machine. Currently, HICAPS has control of this area and we hope their project will be finished by the time this one proceeds. If this does not work, we can look for an area under the walkway. Space is very limited on campus so can address this as we move forward with the project. SSHO: spec. 01 35 26/1.9/C calls for the SSHO to be a separate individual from the superintendent and QC (which can be held by 1 individual). Because of the small size and limited complexity of the project would the government accept 1 person to cover all 3 roles? No, the VA will not accept 1 person to cover the Superintendent, Site Safety & Health Officer, and QC. Please comply with Specification 01 35 26/1.9/C. The current DDC control system is Siemens Insight.� P.O.C. is Will Tattersall 919-280-0133. Fire Alarm is not addressed in the drawings but is in the specs. Can the government please provide fire alarm drawings and scope of work? No fire alarm work is anticipated for this contract. Fire alarm spec 28 31 00/ 2.5/A/1.,2.&17. call for spare parts that appear to far exceed what would be needed for a 100% replacement of possible installed devices. Can the government please verify that they are required? See response to RFI #13. Data: Drawing E101 Key note 1 ""CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL NEW ELECTRICAL RECEPTICLES, DATA OUTLETS, AND DEVICES ON NEWLY CONSTRUCTED WALLS"". Can the VA please provide facility standard for data outlets I.E. number of drops, color of cable and CAT requirement? Usually 2-4 ports per outlet, Cat6A terminated to the 568B standard. Data: Can the VA please provide location and distance to data closet? Room FG184B is the room where we are replacing the MRI Machine. The label above the keypad for the Data Closet is FG187 it is to the right of the entrance to Room FG182B (Storage). COR estimates the distance is approximately 80 feet. Data: Can the VA please confirm if there is room in the existing patch panel to accommodate the new data drops? There may be some room, but normally the contractor provides a new patch panel to be installed in the closet. Data: If there is not room in existing patch panels Can the VA please confirm that there is room in the existing rack to support an additional patch panel? There is room in the existing rack to support an additional patch panel. Data: Are there existing cable trays between the project and the data closet? Depends, usually there are cable tray but not always Data: Can data cables be run in J hooks or added to existing cable trays? Yes to both PACS: dawning A101 door schedule notes calls out PACS and spec 08 11 13/ 2.1/ A./ 1./ a. calls for hardware to be comparable with existing PACS. Can the Government please provide specific requirements to include quantities and locations of devices? See forthcoming Addendum 01 for revised Specification Section 08 34 16 Radio-Frequency-Interference Shielding Doors for a revised Door hardware list. PACS: Will door contacts and request exit motion detectors be required for each access control door? ? Yes, on door contacts. Not exit motion detectors. PACS manufacturer: What type of PACS are we adding to (software manufacturer and hardware manufacturer)? The current system is McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS locations: What is the room number of the telecom room containing the access control panels and approx. distance from the project site? If this is the same room as the Data room the following response had been provided: Room FG184B is the room where we are replacing the MRI Machine. Siemens recommendations: Drawing M-501 Mech. notes 4. Is an oxygen monitoring system within the scope of this project? If yes can the government, please provide details? An oxygen monitoring system is not included within the scope of this project.� The Scope of Work identifies limited plumbing activities associated with the MRI room, specifically noting minor adjustments to existing oxygen and vacuum connections to ensure they are flush with new architectural walls and provision of new house connections to meet user preferences"". The� Scope of Work does not include requirements for the installation, replacement, modification, or commissioning of an oxygen deficiency monitoring system or associated alarms, sensors, controls, or annunciation devices. A&E Response: No oxygen monitoring system is included. Siemens chill water requirements: Drawing M-501 does the VA's chill water meet the requirements? New chiller will be provided by the manufacturer as part of the equipment package. Reference previous question if no what needs to be corrected and is that conditioning of the chill water within the scope of this project? No corrections needed. Power requirements: Drawing E-501 detail 5 does the VA's supplied electricity meet the requirements? Refer to Drawing E-501, Detail 6: Contractors need to test and verify that the MRI power supply complies with the SIEMENS power requirements or the specified requirements. Reference previous question if no what needs to be corrected and is that conditioning of the power supplied with in the scope of this project? Refer to Drawing E-501, Detail 6: Contractors need to test and verify that the MRI power supply complies with the SIEMENS power requirements or the specified requirements. Fire sprinkler: During demolition do sprinkler heads need to be rerouted and turned up or can they be removed? The sprinkler heads are plumbed with PVC (orange pipe), therefore not easily rerouted or turned up. This work will require an Outage (28-days in advance) which will shut down service to all the sprinkler heads in the area. If removed during demolition(FG184B only), we should restore the services to the remaining areas. What is the approximate height floor to deck? Floor to deck height is approximately 17 . Siemens was used as the basis of design.
