- Sources Sought Notice: SPRDL1-26-R-0028 Item Name: Butterfly Valves NSN: 4810-01-153-9363 Manufacturer's Part Number; Oshkosh Defense, LLC (CAGE: 75Q65) P/N 2248440 Quantity: 44 Option Quantity: 44 End Item: M978 Heavy Equipment Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) Tanker Response Date: 5 January 2026 Requirements Description: This valve is located in the bulk transfer pumping assembly at the rear of the vehicle. Its purpose is to control the flow of a fluid. In the case of a butterfly valve, fluid flow is controlled by a disc that can be found in the middle of the pipe. When the valve is open, the disc is parallel to the flow of fluid, and when the valve is closed, the disc is perpendicular to the flow of fluid, blocking the pipe. The valve was designed specifically for this application on the vehicle. The Government does not have rights to the Technical Data Package (TDP) or specifications. This sources sought notice is published in compliance with FAR Part 10, Market Research. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to canvas the industry for any possible other sources. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market research is purely voluntary. The Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred in responding or in any subsequent exchange of information. Contractors interested in becoming a source of supply need to meet the requirements of the Source Approval Program including vehicle level qualification testing, at their own expense. The TACOM Life Cycle Management Command, Competition Management Office (CMO), is the lead proponent for the Source Approval Program.
