- Description
- Naval Modular Missile (NMM) Industry Day Announcement THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THIS REQUEST IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR ANY ACTUAL PROCUREMENT OF MATERIALS, MACHINERY, OR SERVICES. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is pleased to announce an Industry Day for the Naval Modular Missile (NMM) Program, scheduled for 21-22 October 2025 at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland. This event will provide an opportunity for industry partners to connect with the Navy and learn how they can contribute to a transformative and enduring surface warfare capability. Event Purpose: The Industry Day will focus on introducing the NMM program, its acquisition strategy, and collaboration opportunities for industry partners. The goal is to identify performers to support the development of a dynamic, multi-mission Family Of Missiles (FOM) that will enhance naval lethality and operational flexibility. About the Naval Modular Missile (NMM) Program: The NMM program is a next-generation initiative designed to revolutionize surface naval capabilities through: Multi-Mission Flexibility: A long-range hypersonic variant and scalable configurations to replace and enhance existing short-, medium-, and extended-range weapons. Enhanced Capacity: Multiple weapons in a single launcher cell, improving fleet endurance and combat effectiveness. Modular Open Architecture: A collaborative approach with the U.S. Air Force to establish an open government-reference architecture, enabling industry to develop and integrate best-of-breed solutionsfrom individual components to the All-Up Round. Why Participate? By leveraging the open architecture, the Navy aims to foster agility in technology introduction, integration, and upgrade throughout the entire lifecycle of the program. Industry partners will play a critical role in shaping the future of surface weapon systems through potential multiple award opportunities in the planned Request for Proposals (RFP), planned for release in Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26). What to Expect at the Industry Day: OPNAV Requirements: High-level presentation on the NMM FOM and Top-Level Requirements (TLRs) PEO IWS Program Overview: Acquisition approach, contracting mechanisms, and schedules. Open Architecture Discussion: Insights into the modular framework and how industry can contribute to component and system-level innovations. Q&A and Feedback Sessions: Direct engagement with program leadership to address questions and gather industry input on the acquisition strategy. Call to Action: NAVSEA encourages participation from non-traditional defense contractors, small businesses, and technology innovators who can advance the NMMs open architecture vision. This is your opportunity to: Learn how to align your capabilities with Navy requirements. Network with program stakeholders and potential partners. Shape the development of a critical national defense asset.
