Description
NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) The Janz Corp Stryker Defibrillators Product Service Code (PSC): 6515 NAICS Code: 339112 Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892, USA POTS Number: 25-006833 Description This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for quotation. No solicitation will be issued, and no quotations will be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, on behalf of the Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD), intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to The Janz Corp, located at 275 Outerbelt St, Columbus, OH 43213-1529, for defibrillators. The purpose of this requirement is to provide a fixed-price contract to buy replacement defibrillators to support patient care in the Clinical Center. These defibrillators are used primarily by the Code Team in all patient care areas. The CPR Committee sets standards and provides guidelines for the Clinical Center Code Teams use of manual external defibrillator/monitor/pacemaker devices, AEDs, and code carts. Each quarter, the CPR Committee reviews each code blue and rapid response event. Defibrillators deliver electrical energy to the heart to stop life?threatening arrhythmias and restore normal rhythm. External defibrillators deliver energy through paddles or electrode pads. Defibrillator/Monitor/Pacemaker devices are more complex and may include monitoring of oxygen saturation, pulse, and heart rhythm, as well as external pacing and defibrillationeither manually or automatically. These are primarily used by medical professionals in hospitals and emergency medical systems. Given prior recalls and safety considerations for external defibrillators across manufacturers, the FDA strengthened oversight beginning in 2011 and expanded review in 2015, including 510(k) premarket submissions and ongoing post?market reporting. Devices are subject to risk?based classification (Class IIII), and medical electrical equipment must conform to IEC/UL 60601 series standards.
