Description
The United States of American, alongside Mexico and Canada, will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This presents a unique opportunity to showcase America�s historic role as host of the world�s most popular sporting event, while highlighting American exceptionalism in sports, sportsmanship, and fair competition through our strong people-to-people with Romania. The U.S. Embassy Bucharest Public Diplomacy Section seeks to partner with a contractor to design and implement a short public awareness campaign and a series of public viewing events across Romania that will bring communities (especially youth) together to watch and celebrate the U.S. National Team and the World Cup. Objectives The campaign and events should: �Highlight the United States historic role as 2026 World Cup host nation. �Celebrate the U.S. National Team�s participation in the 2026 World Cup. �Highlight America�s leadership in sports diplomacy, and the American values of sportsmanship, fair play, and open competition. Period of Performance �Campaign kickoff: approximately one week prior to the opening match (June 11, 2026). �Public viewing events: June 11 � July 19, 2026. 1. Pre-Tournament Awareness Campaign Develop and run a short media/digital campaign in early June 2026 to highlight U.S. hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Promote the upcoming viewing events. 2. Viewing Events Organize and host a number of public viewing events of FIFA World Cup matches in public spaces throughout Romania. throughout Romania: Events must include: ?U.S. National Team matches. ?Other high-interest matches as necessary (e.g., Romania�s matches, finals, or prime-time games). ?Public access to event, no ticket sales 3. Event Delivery The contractor is responsible for running the events on-site, including staffing, logistics, coordination with embassy and local government officials, and technical support. Provide light refreshments and promotional materials. Ensure Embassy-approved branding is visible at each event. 4. Minimum Equipment Package For each event, the contractor must ensure availability and set-up of: Projector(s) Projection screen(s) Sound system Stable streaming capability sufficient for live broadcasting of matches 5. Promotion and Audience Engagement Advertise events locally and nationally (social media, posters, local press if feasible). Incorporate interactive elements for participants. 6. Monitoring and Evaluation Track attendance and collect photos/video content for embassy use (including appropriate permission). Provide short reports/photos within 5 days of each event. Submit a final report with metrics and evaluation. Deliverables �Campaign plan and promotion strategy (due May 2026). �Plane and execution of 10 viewing events across the identified cities. �Event reports (rolling, within 5 days of each event). �Final report with metrics, attendance, and lessons learned (August 2026). Budget �Proposals must not exceed $30,000 USD (inclusive of all design, production, promotion, staffing, equipment rental, refreshments, reporting costs, and VAT). �Offerors should provide a detailed line-item budget.
