Description
This is an INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE only. This is an intent to sole source notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. This announcement constitutes the only notice of intent to sole source and synopsis of proposed action. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VHA, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract to Life Technologies Corporation due to the proprietary nature of the equipment. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price award. The statutory authority for this noncompetitive acquisition is FAR 13.106- 1(b) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 811210, and the FSC/PSC is J066. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award an Open Market Sole Source Firm Fixed Price award for Thermo Fisher Genexus ION purification system preventive maintenance for the St. Louis VA Medical Center located at 915 N. Grand Blvd. in St. Louis, MO 63106-1621. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. Life Technologies, a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, the Original Equipment Manufacturer, is the only organization that provides services related for maintenance and repair of the Genexus ION purification system. An authorized service letter states that only Thermo Fisher Scientific s personnel possess the requisite product knowledge and specialized training to provide such services without voiding the warranty. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement via email to Erika.Kobulnicky@va.gov by 8:00 AM CST April 8, 2025. All responses received by the closing date specified herein will be considered by the Government, any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence and provide an Authorization Service Letter from Omnicell, Inc the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) by the required date. However, a determination by the Government to not compete is solely within the discretion of the Government.
