Product Service Code: 6640 - Laboratory Equipment and Supplies NAICS Code: 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 25-003973 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of the Department of Laboratory Medicine intends to award a firm-fixed priced sole source basis for the procurement of the following items listed below from 10X Genomics, Inc. List of Equipment: Qty (1) Chromium X & Accessory Kit (1) (2) Dual Index Kit TS Set A, 96 rxn (1) (3) GEM-X Flex Gene Expression Chip Kit, 4 chips (2) (4) GEM-X Flex Sample Preparation v2 Kit, 48 rxns (1) (5) GEM-X Flex Gene Expression Human, 4 samples (12) (6) Shipping and Handling 10X Genomics is the original equipment manufacturer. 10X Genomics Chromium instrument is used to perform single cell gene expression experiment by analyzing mRNA level in single cells derived from patient blood and bone marrow samples. The Chromium allows study of gene expression at the single cell level. 10X Genomics manufacturing operations are regulated by the Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) as mandated by the Food and Drug Administration. This equipment is used to grow primary cellular material as part of the manufacturing process. The device is highly specialized. Genomics Chromium Instrument determine gene expression on single cells isolated from patient blood and bone marrow specimens and is recommended and validated for Department of Laboratory Medicine quality-controlled processes. To use another, make or model will result in an extensive revalidation of testing procedures which would attract cost for the government. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested Parties: Interested parties capable of providing the same or similar products or services described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capability to perform the described work. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. The determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
