SLAC B044 East Roof Replacement Project and Options � Design-Bid-Build SLAC Buildings 044 East, Building 620, Building 120 and the Building 040 Connector have repeated issues with leakage and drainage. The roofs are currently aged and approaching the end of service life. The aim of this project is to replace the existing roofs with new roofing systems. Minimum Qualifications The Offeror�s General Contractor�s license has not been revoked within the past five (5) years. The Offeror�s company has not been debarred within the past five (5) years from working on any U.S. government contracts/subcontracts. Neither the Offeror�s firm, nor any of its owners or officers have been convicted of a crime involving the awarding of the contract of a government (U.S. Federal, State, and City) construction project, or the bidding or performance of a government contract. Offeror must have an established local office for a minimum of 2 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. The San Francisco Bay Area is defined as the following 10 counties: Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Solano, and Santa Cruz Counties The Offeror must list any U.S. projects within the past five (5) years that have been terminated for default. The Offeror�s company cannot have any U.S. projects within the past five (5) years that have been terminated for default. The Offeror must have previous experience working at Department of Energy (DOE) and/or Department of Defense (DOD) Facilities. Scope All design elements and requirements as laid out on design drawings. Below you will find the key elements further defined in the drawings. Base Scope - Building 044 Background � Building 044, also referred to as the Test Laboratory, was constructed in the mid-1960s as one of the original buildings. There are two separate buildings connected by an entry way. The west building is approximately 26,000 sq. feet in area and is comprised of a one-story high bay. The east building is a two-story office building and approximately 16,600 sq. feet in size. Each of these sections forms part of a Built-Up Roof system. Throughout its lifetime, the roof has experienced repeated issues with leakage and drainage. The roof is currently aged and approaching the end of its service life. General Intent: The aim of this project is to replace the existing roof in B044 East, approximately 16,600 sq. feet with a new roofing system. Demolition Insulation and Coverboard Roofing Membrane Installation Flashing Installation Walkway Installation Metal Finishing (roof edges, pitch pans, drains) Option 1 - Building 620 Background - Building 620, also referred to as the Interaction Region (IR) 2 Hall, was constructed in the about 1978 as one of the experimental halls for the Positron Electron Project (PEP). The western part of the building is an enlargement area of the concrete tunnel, and the eastern part is a steel frame structure. The roof of the steel frame eastern portion was replaced in 2015. This project is to replace remaining western portion of the roof. General Intent: This project is to replace the existing roof as highlighted in the photo above with a new roofing system. The building was constructed with prefab, precast concrete roof panels, and is sized approximately 70 feet x 52 feet (3700 ft2). Option 2 - Building 120 Background � Building 120, also known as the SSRL North Arc Building, has a roof with an area of approximately 16,600 square feet. Throughout its lifetime, the roof has experienced repeated issues with leakage and drainage. The roof is currently aged and approaching the end of its service life. General Intent: The aim of this project is to replace the existing roof, gutters, and roof hatch in B120, approximately 16,600 sq. feet with a new roofing system. Option 3 - Building 040 Connector Background � Building 040, also known as the Central Laboratory and Central Laboratory South, was connected by a connector. The connector, known as B040 Connector, has a roof with an area of approximately 2,000 square feet. Throughout its lifetime, the roof has experienced repeated issues with leakage and drainage. The roof is currently aged and approaching the end of its service life. General Intent: The aim of this project is to install new roof drains to improve the drainage system on the roof and replace the existing drain and roof in B040 Connector, approximately 2,000 sq. feet.
