- Description
- This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued for the sole purpose of conducting market research. At this time, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is not seeking proposals or quotes, and will not accept, review, or evaluate unsolicited proposals or quotes received in response. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The information provided may be used by VA in developing its acquisition strategy and Performance Work Statement (PWS). This is an RFI and does not obligate the Government in any way, nor does it commit the Government to any specific course of action. Please see the attached Draft PWS and RFI body for full information and response instructions. The mission of the VA, Office of Information & Technology (OIT), and the VA Informatics and Computing Infrastructure (VINCI) as a Office of Research and Development Resource Center is to provide researchers a nationwide view of high value VA patient data. VINCI is a research and development partnership and operational platform for health services research, epidemiology, decision support, and business intelligence. VINCI's mission is to provide high-quality data, openly extensible information technology, and supporting services to generate and integrate new knowledge, methods, and technologies for research and medical-care communities to assess and improve Veterans' healthcare and to provide benefits and services to Veterans. In meeting these goals, OIT strives to provide high quality, effective, and efficient Information Technology (IT) services to those responsible for providing care to the Veterans at the point-of-care, as well as throughout all the points of the Veterans' health care in an effective, timely, and compassionate manner. VA depends on Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) systems to meet mission goals. VINCI has partnered with the Department of Defense, Air Force Health Services Data Warehouse (HSDW) in a Joint Incentive Funded (JIF) joint venture project known as the DOD and VA Infrastructure for Clinical Intelligence (DaVINCI). The goal of DaVINCI is to increase DOD-VA data integration for interagency collaboration and resource sharing in support of the Joint Strategic Plan and each agency's healthcare and benefits missions.
