- Description
- RFQ SOLICITATION NUMBER 36C26225Q0348 Q&A Monthly inspection - Is this a monthly OSHA required visual inspection of the fire extinguishers? Will this be completed at one location (11201 Benton St. Loma Linda, CA 92357-1000) or are there multiple locations that we will be required to visit monthly? Record keeping for the monthly inspection - will we be required to generate a list of all the fire extinguishers and locations, or will that be provided to us for use monthly? Does the customer have an electronic barcoding system that we will be using to track the inspections? ANSWER: Yes, this is a monthly OSHA required visual inspection with the NFPA Regulation of the Fire Extinguishers. This will be completed at multiple locations, such as Loma Linda VA Main Hospital and its four (4) Surrounding Buildings. Plus, its offsite locations, such as March ARB (Call Center), HR Building, Business Center, Women s Health Clinic, and the two warehouses that will be required to visit monthly. I have the Fire Extinguishers inventory list and will be provided to the contractor monthly. Yes, we have an electronic barcoding system that we will be provided to the contractor for use to track the inspections. Annual service - Will equipment be gathered and be at one service site, or will we be required to collect the equipment throughout the facility and take it to a location for servicing? Also same as above are the extinguishers located at one address or will there be multiple addresses where the equipment is located? ANSWER: No, equipment (Fire Extinguisher) will stay on station and the contractor will certify it on station, if the Fire Extinguisher is still within the six (6) years mark. He will hang the new certify tag to the bottle. If the Fire extinguisher is expired the contractor will remove it, deliver to the company, empty it, hydro static test the bottle, refill it, and return it back to the station. The Fire Extinguisher located at multiple locations, such as Loma Linda VA Main Hospital, its 4 Surrounding Buildings. Plus, its offsite locations, such as ACC (Fleet Transportation), March ARB (Call Center), HR Building, Business Center, Women s Health Clinic, and the 2 warehouses for the annual maintenance certification. We would like to know if this is a brand-new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services? ANSWER: This is a New Contract to replace the Expired Contract. The scope of work did not mention the refilling of the extinguishers, but it is mentioned in CLIN #3 of the pricing table. However, it is not clear if you are anticipating just 24 for the whole year or 24 per month. ANSWER: 24 for the whole year, I looked at them last month when I did the monthly inspection. We have 24 Fire Extinguishers that are expired in 2025 and those are the one that need to take out, empty, hydrostatic testing, refill, and return to station.
