There are questions also being posted with this notice (please see attached instruction titled ""Questions and Instructions for Potential Offers - Industry Day USDA FAPRU"" for the questions and how to respond/provide information). These questions are completly voluntary to answer and you do not have to answer any or all them. You are also encouraged to provide any addtional information you might like to share with the Govenrment via ProjNet. There is also an option to may reachout to to scheduling a one on one session during the Industry Day with the Government if you prefer. An agenda for the industry day is as follows: 9AM: Sign in sheet 9:10AM: Begin opening remarks and presentation 9:30AM: Questions and Answers for Contractors and Government 10AM: Breakout for Contractors and Government 11AM: Industry Day Ends ***************** USDA FORAGE ANIMAL PRODUCTION RESEARCH UNIT (FAPRU) INDUSTRY DAY MEETING LOGISTICS: An Industry Day for upcoming projects at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY The Industry Day will be held on 12 December 2024 at 9:00 am Eastern Time (ET). The Industry Day will occur from 9:00 am ET through approximately 12:00 pm EST. The Industry Day will be located at the Cameron Williams Lecture Hall in the Plant & Soil Science Building at the following address: 1405 Veterans Drive Lexington, KY 40503 Contractors are asked to arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to the Industry Day. Contractors planning to attend the event are asked to complete the Pre-registration Form attached to this notice. Opportunities for networking and questions will be available throughout the event. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: FORAGE ANIMAL PRODUCTION RESEARCH UNIT: The project will construct a two-story, 47,840 SF laboratory office building with an integrated mechanical penthouse constructed of Kentucky regional materials inspired by agricultural influences such as rustic limestone, limestone gladding, high performance structural silicone glazing and oxidized metal panels located on the University of Kentucky campus. The facility interior will consist of laboratory, office space as well as informal/shared meeting area and personal/flexible spaces. The new research facility for the United States Department of Agriculture � Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) has the �mission to provide improved sustainability and profitability of forage-based livestock enterprises� in the local region. The project will be in on the University of Kentucky�s College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment (UK-CAF�) campus and consists of Research Laboratories, Support Laboratories, Offices for principal investigators and their teams, collaboration space, along with Greenhouse and Headhouse facilities. Laboratory requirements/features include: daylighting, open and closed labs, chemical fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, lab air, lab vacuum, dedicated ventilation system and primary/secondary protection devices. Other requirements include compliance with ANSI Z-3581 Emergency Eye Wash & Shower Equipment standard and the installation of modern utilities such as deionized water, natural gas and custom gases. Specialized equipment installation will be required for items such as: walk-in cold room, walk-in freezer room, chemical fume hood, autoclave, glassware washer, liquid nitrogen freezer and storage tanks, etc. The magnitude of construction for this project is expected to be between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. Amendments, if/when issued, will be posted to the above referenced website for electronic downloading. This will be the only method of distributing amendments prior to closing; therefore, it is the Offeror�s responsibility to check the website periodically for any amendments to the solicitations. REGISTRATIONS: Offerors shall have and shall maintain an active registration in the following database: System for Award Management (SAM): Offerors shall have and shall maintain an active registration in the SAM database at http://www.sam.gov to be eligible for a Government contract award. If the Offeror is a Joint Venture (JV), the JV entity shall have valid SAM registration in the SAM database representing the JV as one business/firm/entity. If at the time of award an Offeror is not actively and successfully registered in the SAM database, the Government reserves the right to award to the next prospective Offeror.
