Description
This Sources Sought/Market Survey Notice is being conducted by John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R. St., Detroit, MI 48201 to identify all sources that are capable of providing Chiller Shaft Seal Removal and Replacement Services for the period of February 14, 2025 May 13, 2025 at the discretion of the Government in strict accordance with all schedules, specifications, terms, conditions and provisions of this contract. General Information Engineering is requesting a Service Contract for the Removal and Replacement of shaft seal that is leaking oil on Chiller #1. York: YKMQMSH9, S/N: SAXM833730 Chiller. Locate in the Energy Center, room EC103 at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. The Contractor shall provide all parts, materials, labor, supervision, test equipment, technical manuals, and transportation necessary to perform the work required. The Contractor shall use/follow only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts/materials/recommendations and applicable national, state, county, and local codes, and must have Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recovery license. The Contractor shall use a certified Johnson Controls/York chiller mechanic with verified credentials to perform the services and technical expertise that is required with Johnson Controls and York products. The contractor shall use only original equipment (OEM) parts and materials for this requirement. The contractor shall follow all applicable national, state, county, and local codes having jurisdiction and shall match existing building construction and standards, at the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs VA Medical Center and VA standards. Contractor shall perform the following work required during the period of performance: Shaft Seal replacement: Properly LO/TO chiller. Recover and store approximately 2600lbs of refrigerant Charge the chiller with nitrogen to atmospheric pressure. Remove the defective shaft seal. Install new OEM shaft seal Check the motor/compressor shaft alignment, compressor shaft run-out and thrust tolerances. If the measurements are within specification, a new shaft seal will be installed. If the measurements are out of spec. disassembly/repair will be quoted separately. The chiller will be pressurized, and leak checked to 500 microns at a minimum, prior to being dehydrated and evacuated. Charge the chiller with the recovered refrigerant. Additional refrigerant may be needed and will be charged separately. Once the machine is started, the oil charge will be verified, and oil added as needed. Check new seal to ensure there is no oil leak. If this is a service your business can provide, respond to this Sources Sought by Wednesday, December 18, 2024; 3:00 P.M. Eastern time.
