- Description
- The Contracting Department, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk, BUMED and FM and C Directorate, intends to negotiate a single award, cost plus fixed fee (CPFF) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, with the ability to place Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Task Orders (TO) as well, under FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation. Naval Health Research Centers (NHRC) Medical Modeling and Simulation Department performs medical modeling and simulation research for Department of Defense (DoD) activities. The Medical Planners Toolkit (MPTk) and the Joint Medical Planning Tool (JMPT) are real-time research supported software programs for DoD medical planners that estimates medical resource requirements using data from the Expeditionary Medical Encounter Database (EMED) and Expeditionary Medical Knowledge Warehouse (EMedKW) to develop course of action operational risk assessments. The purpose of this acquisition is to continue the sustainment of the EMedKW, MPTk and JMPT, be able to enhance the current capabilities of EMedKW, MPTk and JMPT, and to perform analysis associated with MPTk, JMPT, or other theater-related medical planning research aspects. The overarching goal is to better assist military medical planners and logisticians in assessing the adequacy of medical support when synchronized with military operations and in evaluating the medical support mission as well as providing support medical course of action analysis and studies across the Range of Military Operations (ROMO). The overall period of performance (POP) for this requirement includes a single 60-month base period - there are no option periods. This effort is not considered a new requirement and the current contract, N6264520D5008 is currently being performed by Teledyne Brown Engineering, INC.
