Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI), Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (PM CAS) located at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey anticipates awarding up to two competitive Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) multiple award contracts with five ordering periods (twelve months each), utilizing a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) Source Selection Procedure, in accordance with, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15, for the Artillery (PA-55 and PA-71/A) and Mortar (PA162, PA167, PA175, and PA189) Fiber Containers. Artillery Fiber Containers are made in accordance with MIL-DTL-2439 type I or VI. The PA-55 Artillery Fiber Container is a spirally wound fiber tube used for 105mm artillery rounds. It has a telescoping cover on each end. Each cover has a crimped metal end. The windings of the PA-55 Artillery Fiber Container consist of layers of kraft paper, foil, and polylam material. The outer dimensions are a maximum 5.19""dia. X 31.88"" max length. The PA-55 has inner kraft tubes which support a steel washer near the containers center. The PA-71/A Artillery Fiber Containers are spirally wound fiber tubes for 105mm artillery rounds and include a stamped one-piece metal cover and a crimped metal end. The windings of the fiber tube consist of layers of kraft paper, foil, and polylam material. The outer dimensions are 5.28� maximum dia. X 35.83� maximum length. The PA-71/A Artillery Fiber Container contains cylindrical foam inserts and a double-beveled steel support washer. The PA162 81mm Mortar and PA167 120mm Mortar Fiber Containers are spirally wound fiber tubes with a telescoping cover and a crimped metal end. The windings of the fiber tubes consist of layers of kraft paper and polyolefin material. The PA167 Mortar Fiber Container outer dimensions are 5.43 inch diameter x 30.46 inch length, and the PA162 Mortar Fiber Container outer dimensions are 4.0 inch diameter x 27.06 inch length. The PA167 Mortar Fiber Container has an injection molded internal plastic support while the PA162 Mortar Fiber Container has support constructed of a steel ring pressed into a spirally wound fiber tube. The PA175 Mortar Fiber Container and PA189 60mm Mortar Fiber Container are spirally wound fiber tubes with a stamped one-piece metal cover and a crimped metal end. The windings of the fiber tubes consist of layers of kraft paper and polyolefin material. The outer dimensions are 2.69 inch diameter x 17.73 inch length. Both tubes have an injection molded internal plastic support to support the contents. The Technical Data Package (TDP) is coded as Distribution Statement A (approved for public release; distribution is unlimited). The Request for Proposal (RFP) W519TC-25-R-0005, will be available electronically in accordance with FAR 4.5 at the following internet address: http://www.sam.gov on or about 21 October 2024. Interested Contractors are advised to periodically access the internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database by accessing the SAM web site at http://www.sam.gov in order to be eligible for contract award.
