- DLA Land and Maritime is preparing to solicit the following one-time buy: NSN 5340016822660 ITEM NAME Hardware Kit, Mechanic Equipment Approved Source(s) Cage(s) & P/N(s) Wartsila Defense, Inc. (0EYA6) & H30491-02-10 Unit of Issue EA Quantity 36 Qty w/ 100% Option 18 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ The AMC/AMSC for the NSN listed above is 3/Q AMC 3 Acquire, for the second or subsequent time, directly from the actualmanufacturer. AMSC Q The Government does not have adequate data, lacks rights to data, orboth needed to purchase this part from additional sources. The Government hasbeen unable to economically buy the data or rights to the data, although thepart has been undergoing full screening for 12 or more months. Breakout tocompetition has not been achieved, but current, continuing actions to obtain necessary rights to data or adequate,reprocurement technical data indicate breakout to competition is expected tobe achieved. This part may be a candidate for reverse engineering or othertechniques to obtain technical data. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A company wishing to be reviewed and qualified as an �Approved Source�, mustsubmit an application package through the DLA Land and Maritime AlternateOff er/Source Approval Request (SAR) Program. A SAR package contains alltechnical data needed to demonstrate that the prospective contractor cancompetently manufacture the product to the same level of quality or better than�the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The onus is on the contractor todocument their product is equial to or better than the currently approved itemwhich DLA Land and Maritime is procuring. Please review the NSN listed above and provide any sources that may be able tomanufacture these items. The approved source(s) for this NSN are currentlylisted above.
