- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION; not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to: (1) determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists, (2) determine if commercial items suitable to meet the agency's needs are available or could be modified to meet the agency's requirements, and (3) determine the commercial practices of company's engaged in providing the needed service or supply. This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, Norfolk, VA to identify ship repair sources capable of providing responses the following information in a Contractor Outreach Opportunity at the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Fleet Maintenance and Modernization Symposium at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach Virginia on September 17/18, 2024: What is the interest from industry for the Government to use combined availability contracts and/or multiple award contracts? (to include requirements or Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) How much does industry rely on the information found available on SAM.GOV and APFS What are known barriers to entry that could be removed? What factors go into your bid/no bid process that could addressed better? Are there any know packaging/logistical/supply chain issues that can be overcome if requirements are changed? Are there any issues with contract format/structure impacting your bid/no bid process? Are you experiencing lead time issues that can be fixed? Do you find any issues with specifications/requirements that impact your bid/no bid process? Overall working experience in dealing with SFLC? Do you find the information in APFS reliable/useable?
