Description
Question and Answer 1. In the Statement of Work, General Requirements, C states sample to be collected at first draw to catch the water that comes out immediately from the outlet, without the use of flush .  Bacterial sample procedure includes flushing. Answer: Testing protocol a. Test each line separately. b. Remove all handpieces and any other equipment reprocessed by SPS before drawing samples from the lines. Air-water syringe tips should be removed. The air-water syringe itself, if not changed between patients (e.g., if barrier + disinfection is accomplished by dental personnel), should remain on the line while drawing the sample. c. Quarterly d. Use of a water testing lab certified in environmental specimens is preferred. e. Report results to the Infection Control Committee or the Safety Committee as appropriate for the facility. Action Levels f. If >200 cfu but 500 cfu line before returning it to service. h. If shocking and retesting again yields >500 cfu i. Line remains out of service. ii. Contact dental equipment manufacturer and waterline treatment manufacturer for recommendations on options, such as repeat shocking or line replacement. SOW has been updated 2. Does the HPC analysis need PA state cert? Can we send the quote and certification directly to your email once prepared? Can we have a separate line for sampling fees or should the sampling price be incorporated in the cost of analysis? Laboratory used for analysis must be EPA or state certified to conduct HPC analysis.  Contractor must provide a copy of EPA or state certificate for the laboratory. I believe the answer is NO either EPA certified or state EPA certified. All submissions are completed via email at Edward.ferkel@va.gov. They also must be complete according to the instructions listed in the combined synopsis. Please only include pricing listed in the price schedule. Any other fees are assumed by the vendor.
