- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) National Operations Center Geospatial Imaging section (OC534) requires a drone-mountable Lidar scanning solution to facilitate the field-based documentation and characterization of various natural and cultural resources. The system must be compatible with planned aircraft (Freefly Astro), have a significant range (i.e. support flight up to 100 m above ground level) and point density (160+pts/sqm at 100m AGL and 10m/s), and, ideally, should be compatible with existing Yellowscan software in use by the Department. One complete system/unit is required, including necessary software for processing scans. B. Product Specifications � 3D Laser Scanner: o System Compatibility � Must be mountable on the Freefly Astro system and include appropriate mounting hardware. o Laser range at least 200m o Accuracy and precision at least 4cm/3.5cm, respectively. o Scanning angular FOV at least 70� x 4�. o At least 3 returns per shot compatibility o Data acquisition/scanning rate >250,000 points/second. o Scanning frequency up to 10Hz o System weight (without battery) less than 2.5 lbs. o Must include camera module for point cloud colorization. o Must be GNSS-enabled (i.e. not a SLAM system) � Data Processing & Analysis Software: o Ability to reprocess and/or edit or modify 3D point cloud data, perform strip adjustment, and classify and colorize point clouds. o Ability to automatically register and merge data from multiple flights. o .LAS (.LAZ), minimal default output file formats. o Base license should be perpetual. � Additional System Requirements: o The instrument must successfully operate in temperatures up to 40� C/104� F. o Instrument and associated add-ons must be able to work offline in remote, backcountry settings for extended periods. o Software must be available in stand-alone, desktop version for working offline in remote, backcountry settings for extended periods.
