- This IS NOT a request for bids, quotes, or proposal. This is a sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified sources. No award may be issued from this Request for Information (RFI) notice. Interested parties of any size may submit a response to this notice. Description: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is a component of the Department of the Treasury that designs, engraves, and prints U.S. banknote currency and other U.S. security products. Banknote currency manufacturing occurs at BEP�s Washington, DC Currency Facility (DCF) located in Washington, DC and Western Currency Facility (WCF) located in Fort Worth, TX. BEP�s primary customer is the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). The U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is interested in identifying contracting entities that can provide information about the Assessment of Needs for Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Material Handling Equipment are tools and systems used for moving, storing, controlling, and protecting goods in a warehouse or distribution center (examples� Pallet Jack, Forklift, etc.�). Potential vendors shall provide the following services: Assessment of Needs for Material Handling Equipment will be used to determine BEP�s current MHE need for improvement or replacement. It shall determine BEP�s overall equipment needs, maintenance needs and provide an estimated three (3) year annual cost breakdown. Generate a Lease v Buy document for MHE currently in use at BEP manufacturing operations in Washington, D.C. The vendor shall analyze a list of MHE equipment currently in use at BEP during our 24 hour-a-day operation. The vendor shall analyze any lists of MHE hours of use, maintenance logs, equipment down time due to equipment failure currently in use at BEP. The analysis shall determine if BEP has the proper amount of MHE to efficiently and cost effectively support manufacturing operations. Identify all MHE that should be purchased. Identify all MHE that should be rented/leased (short term � long term.) The vendor shall provide recommendations for new equipment based on building constraints and specifications of material. The vendor shall provide recommendations for improvements in maintenance policies to ensure maximum life and less down time for maintenance. The vendor shall provide information identifying parts, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, services and preventative maintenance needs. See attached Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) for details. The vendor shall state if a site visit is required in order to make the assessment. Vendors are requested to provide brochures, literature and/or information on their ability to provide an Assessment of Needs for Material Handling Equipment Services. Vendors are requested to provide a rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimating the cost of the project (for budgetary purposes). Vendors are further requested to provide the following information: Vendor must state if they are registered on SAM.gov, an official website of the U.S. government. Recommended equipment specifications, functions, capabilities, and system options. Review the attached draft PWS and attempt to improve/correct: Is there any information that is not clear? Is there any information that is not included that should be? Is there any information that is included that should not be? Is the PWS asking for what we want and need? Could it otherwise be improved upon in order to meet the needs of the BEP? Typical delivery/installation time frames. Typical maintenance requirements, including preventative maintenance. Equipment origin or place of manufacture. Location(s) of Factory Inspection Testing for the systems. Company name, address, phone number, primary contact, e-mail, all applicable in a NIC S codes, business size (I. E., small/large), companies socioeconomics (I. E., woman dash owned, service disabled veteran owned, HUBzone, 8(a), etc. Also, CAGE code, and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) replaces DUNES number. If claiming SDVOSB and VOSB, please provide VetBiz certification. GSA Schedule Number Responses shall be emailed to bryan.sheppard@bep.gov, addressing the questions above no later than 2:00pm Eastern Time, September 3, 2024. No phone calls will be accepted. AT THIS TIME NO SOLICITATION EXISTS. (DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION). A FUTURE NOTICE MAY BE POSTED IF A SOLICITATION IS RELEASED.
