Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source contract to Infiniti Information Solutions, LLC, 5285 Shawnee Road, Suite 106, Alexandria VA, 22312 for Reader Assistant Support Services. This proposed contract is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition which is 41 U.S.C.§ 3304(a)(5) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-5 entitled, Authorized or required by statute . The applicable statute is Public Law 109- 461: Veterans Benefits, Health Care, and Information Technology Act of 2006 specifically, the Veterans First Contracting Program outlined in 38 U.S.C.§ 8127(c) and VAAR 806.302-570(c). This proposed service will continue to provide Reader Assistant Support services to serve as a reader assistant for one (1) visually impaired government employee and perform associated clerical tasks. The reader assistant will perform a variety of administrative functions related activities, including, but not limited to deciphering handwritten/printed materials, e-mails, graphs, charts, excel spreadsheets, TIF and JPG files, and memos for the visually impaired employee who currently utilizes JAWS software that has limited capabilities. Support for the visually impaired employee shall also include sighted mobility assistance to locate unfamiliar people and places/locations when on training or conference travel. The contractor shall use discretion in dealing with sensitive information in accordance with Non-Disclosure Agreements, particularly when preparing reports, summaries, replies, and reviewing regulations in response to Government contracts. This is a ""Notice of Intent"" and not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. Interested parties that feel they can provide the services may respond to the point of contact listed in this notice no later than 10:00 AM ET on August 26, 2024. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. Respondents are advised, the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted.
