Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide a floor plan and answers to questions received. The terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged. The submission due date remains unchanged. All questions and answer are provided herein. Question: Are there cables already installed for the cameras? If not, is CAT6 or CAT6A cable required to be installed for the cameras? Answer: YES, CAT6. Question: Is there an existing installed network rack that can be utilized to install the video recorder and network equipment?   Answer: NO. Question: The solicitation identifies what is required for cameras, recorders and user workstation. However, it does not identify a need for the contractor to provide and install a Power Over Ethernet (PoE) network switch to power the cameras and provide network connectivity. Is the VA OI&T or Contractor to provide the required switch? Answer: Vendor will provide ALL equipment needed. Question: Does the VA have a sketch with proposed camera locations? Cameras can utilize a variety of mounting types and hardware and it would help to understand where they are being installed i.e. PTZ on an exterior corner. Answer: (attached with adjustments from original) Question: Does the interior of the facility have hard ceilings or acoustic tiles (drop ceiling)? Answer: No but the wiring is in place behind cover plates Question: Are floor plan drawings showing camera locations available to shared contractors? If so, could you please email or post them on SAM.gov opportunity s page? Answer: Yes (attached) Question: Will any of the ten (10) dome 5MP cameras be installed outside the VA building for exterior coverage? Answer: One under front door overhang. On Second floor drawing. Question: Will any cameras be installed on parking lot poles or other separate structures (e.g., a guard house)? Answer: NO Question: How many cameras will be installed inside the building, and how many on each floor? Answer: First floor= 6, second floor= 2, third floor= 1. Question: On which floor will the recorder be installed? Answer: First floor telecom room Question: Is there a cable tray installed in the interior hallways of the building? Answer: No but all wiring is in place (two strands of CAT6 at each camera location.) Question: Will the camera system be integrated with any other security systems? Answer: NO Question: Is the building's construction complete, and have VA operations begun? Answer: NO & NO Question: Will the security camera system need connected to the VA network for remote access, or will it be on stand-alone network only? Answer: Stand Alone. Question: is the 50% subcontracting just for labor or just for materials or a combination? Answer: In the case of a contract for supplies or products (other than from a nonmanufacturer of such supplies), it will not pay more than 50% of the amount paid by the government to it to firms that are not certified SDVOSBs listed in the SBA certification database as set forth in 852.219 73 or certified VOSBs listed in the SBA certification database as set forth in 852.219 74. Any work that a similarly situated certified SDVOSB/VOSB subcontractor further subcontracts will count towards the 50% subcontract amount that cannot be exceeded. Cost of materials are excluded and not considered to be subcontracted. Question: Can RFI questions be submitted via email and if so, will responses be provided through email or posted on SAM.gov before the bid submission deadline on August 16, 2024. Answer: Questions must be submitted via email and answers will be posted on SAM.gov by EOB on 8/14/2024.
