Description
The Naval Medical Research Unit SOUTH (NAMRU SOUTH) mission is to conduct biomedical research in infectious diseases and global health to meet U.S. Navy requirements and deliver lifesaving products including knowledge, technology, and medical materiel to sustain the effectiveness of the uniformed service members. NAMRU SOUTH conducts research studies to support US military personnel readiness and Force Health Protection (FHP). Moreover, NAMRU SOUTH provides sustainable infectious diseases research support to the host nation Ministry of Health, other government agencies, universities and military through field studies, infectious diseases surveillance and epidemiologic studies, vaccine and drug clinical trials, test/evaluation of technologies and training NAMRU SOUTH is hosting site visits for any interested vendor that can meet the work load of an upcoming requirement. The site visit is intended as an engagement session for vendors to see day-to-day operations. NAMRU SOUTH is especially interested in vendors that have extensive experience in the areas of: Collection of data and support regulated studies Managerial, administrative, direct labor personnel, materials, transportation, and other pertinent services that are necessary to accomplish all work required Support research in the following areas (but not limited to) a) vaccine trials b) drug studies c.) test and evaluation of new technology, d.) epidemiologic studies and biosurveillance of infectious diseases, surveillance of vectors, e.) development / evaluation of devices and therapeutic countermeasures for malaria, bacterial causes of infectious diarrhea, emerging viral pathogens (e.g., dengue, chikungunya, Zika), influenza viruses, leishmaniasis, and multi-drug resistant bacteria. Support in maintaining U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory standards to conduct clinical studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH). AGENDA: Agenda will be distributed to vendors upon arrival at NAMRU SOUTH site. The Navy is looking for companies that have new and innovative ideas to support the future of NAMRU SOUTH. The information obtained from the site visit will be utilized for market research purposes. DISCLAIMER: Attendance at the site visit is not a prerequisite for participating in any future solicitations or procurements; however, it will provide a valuable opportunity for interested parties to obtain information. Nothing in this industry day is a guarantee of future partnerships, contract commitment, or future workload. This announcement is not a contract, a request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. The U.S. Navy will make every effort to hold the site visit engagement at the times, dates and locations specified. The U.S. Navy holds the right to cancel and/or change session event times, dates and locations under certain conditions. These conditions usually include, but are not limited to: inclement weather, event venue cancellation or rescheduling, speaker cancellation or rescheduling, and insufficient number of participants for the event. The U.S. Navy holds the right to cancel the event for any reason up to and including the day of the event. If the event is cancelled, the notice will be posted on this website and an email will be sent to all registered participants. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee for travel expenses or marketing efforts; therefore, attendee cost in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government.
