- Description
- This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal.� The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Li-Cor, Inc., 4647 Superior Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68504-1357, United States, to procure an Odyssey M Fluor Bundle Imaging System to use for ongoing research.� Diseases (NIAID), conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.� For more than 50 years, NIAID research has led to new therapies, vaccines, diagnostic tests, and other technologies that have improved the health of millions of people in the United States and around the world. Within the NIAID, the Laboratory of Viral Diseases (LVD)�s goals of their research programs are to create knowledge that increases a basic biological understanding of the studied pathogens and their interactions with their hosts and to generate new strategies for preventing and treating viral diseases.� Within the LVD, the Genetic Engineering Section�s goals are to determine the mechanisms used by viruses to infect cells, express and replicate their genomes, assemble infectious particles, and evade the host immune response. Project Description: This requirement is for the Laboratory of Viral Diseases, Genetic Engineering Section. The Genetic Engineering Section needs a Li-Cor Odyssey M Fluor to replace an old Li-Cor Odyssey CLX.� The M-fluor model is required because it has additional lasers to detect multiple samples and greatly increased resolution and sensitivity.� This instrument will be used to support ongoing research carried out in the Genetic Engineering Section of the Laboratory of Viral Diseases. In Building 33 on the main NIH campus. Description of Need: Odyssey M - Fluor - Imaging Bundle � Basic, Item 3340-01, Qty 1 Shipping and Handling, Qty - 1 Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation.� This will be awarded as a firm-fixed price type of contract. Delivery: Estimate delivery has a 12 weeks ARO, after receipt and acceptance of award. Delivery Location: NIH/NIAID/LVD, 33 North Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS.� All responsible sources that could provide the required services may submit a capability statement that will be considered by email (subject line to reference NOI-NIAID-24-2231161) to Rita Davis at rita.davis@nih.gov , by 4:00pm eastern standard time August 19, 2024. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.� Late submissions shall be treated in accordance with the solicitation provision at FAR 52.212-1(f).� A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
