- Good Neighbor Authority - Wet Meadow Restoration The is a solicitation for the project described below. This project is set aside only for entities eligible for Good Neighbor Authority, i.e. a state or tribal government. The official representing the state or Indian tribe must certify in writing that you are an authorized representative of an eligible entity as defined in 16 USC 2113a. The BLM is utilizing the Good Neighbor Authority to issue a contract for a Wet Meadow Restoration project in accordance with 16 U.S.C. 2113a. Under this authority, the Government is authorized to contract directly with a state, county or tribe for authorized Restoration Services, which include: treatment of insect and disease infected trees, hazardous fuels reduction, or any other activities to restore or improve forest, rangeland, and watershed health, including fish and wildlife habitat. This project will focus on watershed health in the Gunnison, Colorado. If you are a qualifying entity who is capable and interested in this project, please contact the POC below and submit your proposal no later than the the responses due date. Period of Performance: 09/01/2024 - 08/31/2027 Short SOO Description: The BLM Colorado Gunnison Field Office has a requirement for wet meadow restoration using low tech, process-based methods in lotic and lentic habitats. Selected ephemeral streams in the Gunnison Field Office require the installation of beaver dam analogs, post assisted log features, headcut control using Zeedyk features, Zuni bowls, and native shrub and tree plantings. The contractor will be responsible for designing the necessary features to accomplish the meadow restoration, placement of the designed features, and monitoring the success of the projects. Project on the selected stream would result in 200 acres of wet meadow restoration, with additional native seed planting on restored acres, and herbicide application if the area has invasive annual grasses in the years following the restoration work.
