- Description
- 1. SCOPE: The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment and supplies necessary to remove and dispose of existing fabric canvas and tension bars, and install new fabric canvas and tension bars to 5 fabric sunshade shelters, India 14-18, on the Seymour Johnson AFB flightline. The new fabric canvas and tension bars will conform to the following specifications: Each canopy is 70' Wide X 70' Long X 30'6"" Center Height X 19' Side Wall (Total of 5 canopies) Minimum 24 OZ. Cover, Exterior Tudor Beige, Interior White, Flame Retardant PVC Coated Fabric Fabric will be made of continuous fabric panel that will cover the entire shelters length and width Fabric shall stop 11' above ground on side walls. Frame: Must fully meet NC State Code and all design load criteria for the 110mph wind load rating. Side Cables will have high visibility protection sleeves with reflective tape Anchors for asphalt (2 each) and concrete (30 each) foundation All Weld Joints Coated with 97% Zinc ""Cold Cal"" for Corrosion Protection Meets or exceeds Class ""C"" Rating on the Shelter for Wind Load @ 110 MPH Fabric Provides 100% Waterproofing 20-year warranty on the canopies 2. MATERIALS: All tools and equipment necessary for the installation will be supplied by the contractor. All materials shall comply with Buy American Act and Berry Amendment requirements. 3. LOCATION: This work is to be accomplished on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, NC. 4. WORKMANSHIP: All workmanship will comply with standard trade practices. The contractor shall provide all qualified personnel, equipment, and services required to dispose of existing canvas and install new canvas. 5. CLEANUP: The contractor is responsible to return all work sites to the condition in which they were found. 6. WARRANTY: The contractor will guarantee all workmanship for a period of one (1) year from completion of work. The contractor shall also provide a 20-year warranty on the canopy. 7. EXCLUSION/FREE ZONE: The Government will create either a security �exclusion zone� or �free zone� around the perimeter of the construction site. The �exclusion zone� will consist of stanchions and elevated rope to identify the area of the ramp that is excluded from the secure �Red-lined� area of the ramp. Signs that read �Restricted Area� will be placed on the construction side of the �exclusion zone�. The �free zone� will consist of stanchions and elevated rope to identify the area of the ramp where work is authorized. The secure �red-lined� area is still in effect and contract employees will need to be escorted to and from the �free zone� when entering and departing. The �free zone� will have guards posted at each of the four corners. 8. SIZE: The size of the shelters shall have a minimum of 65� clear width and length inside by with an outside width not exceeding 70�, 30�6� center height and 19� side wall height. The fabric roofing/siding shall extend down to approximately the same height as the existing shelters (11� above the ground). 9. SITE INFORMATION: 9.1 The contractor shall submit paperwork for base access to the Contracting Officer prior to work beginning. 10. SAFETY: All safety requirements of the US Army Corps of Engineers Safety Manuel 385-1-1 latest edition will be strictly adhered to as related to all work covered under this contract. 11. PHASING: The installation of the shelters will be accomplished in one (1) phase. All work shall be done in each phase and a separate �exclusion zone� or �free zone� will be required for installation on the airfield and established by the Government prior to commencement of work. Phases may or may not have a waiting period between them.
