The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price purchase order to Laborie Medical Technologies Corp, located at 180 International Dr, Portsmouth, NH 03801, on a firm fixed price sole source award basis to provide the NEXT Go Cart Urodynamics Machine System. Below is a description of the item(s): Description: NEXT Go Cart Urodynamics Machine System Catalog #: MD-NIH124-NGC Units: EA Quantity: 1 The proposed vendor, Laborie Medical Technologies Corp, is the only source available to provide this device to NIH. If any other urodynamics machine were considered, patient safety could be compromised. The NXT Go Cart Urodynamics Solution equipment is compliant with the professional improvement projects (PIP) and the NIH Risk Management standards including the NIH Safety Infection Prevention and Policy Control for use of equipment and supplies ordered for the administration of quality oncology patient care. This is an important citation as the mission of clinical patient care, the scientific research mission, standards for patient safety and the Clinical Center standards for Infection Control at the Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center, are paramount in preventing infections throughout the hospital. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
