SOURCES SOUGHT:� THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATION BUT INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY!� This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado, anticipates a requirement that is being considered under a small business set-aside program. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 333517. The size standard is 500 employees.� The requirement is to provide and install one new Wire Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) to the second floor of Fairchild Hall located at USAFA, CO 80840. Note: The freight elevator in Fairchild Hall is limited to 5,000 pounds and a volume of approximately 86�x116�x94�.� The Wire EDM must include the following minimum salient characteristics: Hold to tolerances of +/- 0.0005 inches to a finish of 18 or lower (better) Axis travel of x: 12.0�, y: 10.0�, z: 8.0� or larger Floorspace must not exceed 12�x10�x8� Weight must be less than 5,000 lbs. Capable of wire sizes of 0.004� - 0.012� Extra set of basic consumables to include, but not limited to, extra 0.010� guides and 0.010� hard brass wire and water filters Programming able to read G-Code Standard North American power (60 Hz, 200V-240V-3 phase) Machine installation and initial training 1-year manufacturer�s warranty Instruction manual in both print and digital formats Compliant with the Buy American Statute All shipping, rigging, and installation is to be provided by the vendor.� Interested parties of any size business are invited to submit a capabilities package clearly demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a Foreign-owned/foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated use of foreign national employees on this effort. Include in your capabilities package your UEI number, Cage Code, System for Award Management (SAM) expiration date, any related specifications/drawings, and answers to the following questions: Where is the product manufactured? Who is the manufacturer? Are spare parts sourced locally or internationally? What is your process and average turn-around time for repairs? NOTE:� RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SHALL STATE IF THEY ARE A SUPPLIER OR MANUFACTURER!
