- Description
- VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) STATEMENT OF NEED AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Stryker Pi Drive 2+ Motor VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) STATEMENT OF NEED AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Stryker Pi Drive 2+ Motor Requirement The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) is a tertiary referral center for the western half of VA Healthcare VISN 4, treating Veterans from Altoona, Erie, and Butler, in Pennsylvania and Clarksburg, West Virginia. VAPHS proudly serves the Veteran population throughout the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. VAPHS consists of two clinical care facilities in Pittsburgh (HJH and University Drive locations) as well as five community-based outpatient clinics. VAPHS maintains academic affiliations with over 170 associated health educational programs, to include the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine. The primary objective of this Statement of Work is to define the scope for the procurement, and integration of the Brand Name or Equal to, Stryker Pi Drive 2+ Motor drill, Model Number 5407-350-000, within our neurosurgery clinic. Our current units in use are obsolete. Its features include the Pi drive design which replaces the nonfunctioning steel core in conventional motors with magnets in a pie configuration. This allows optimization of the space, while reducing overall housing size versus conventional motor designs. Similarly, traditional round wiring looped around the core is exchanged for flat wiring that completely encases it, generating an efficient motor design that can run long and stay cool. These drills are also black anodized which gives less light reflection when utilizing high intensity head lamps. The current drills used in Neurosurgery are of an earlier and now obsolete model. These are an upgraded model of the same product. This will ensure standardization with the other drills in use in the operating room and ensure familiarity with providers working with the drill. Features Motor bearing grease has higher viscosity and max operating temperature (98.6°F increase; 350.6°F vs 284°F) (37ºC increase; 177ºC vs 140ºC) 29% decrease (3.3lbf) in attachment mean peak pullout force Non-footed slam latch and release collar simplify use Matte anodizing and drill coating reduce light reflection/glare off drill surface, reduce corrosion and preserve exterior marking 4+ years (minimum 400 cycles) ~ 50% reduction in sound energy Up to 36% reduction in cable friction (CoF) Drill tracker adapter provides future-ready design Works with I.D. Touch software for custom drill response 75K RPM electric motor Delivery Delivery should be coordinated with the VA Pittsburgh Point of Contact for the contract appointed at award, prior to shipping of any equipment. University Drive VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System University Drive C, Room 2A118 Pittsburgh PA 15240 The Contractor must comply and provide all necessary information to VAPHS.
