- BRULE FLATS STABILIZATION On or about 16 August 2024, this office will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Brule Flats Stabilization project, South Dakota. The solicitation will close on or about 17 September 2024. This solicitation is 100% Set-Aside for Small Businesses. Site Visit: (add if applicable) Site visit information will be issued with the solicitation. Project Description: This project is for the implementation of bank stabilization measures in Brule County SD adjacent to Lake Francis Case/Ft. Randall Dam Project. The work is located approximately ten (10) miles north of Chamberlain, SD.� The exact location of the work will be provided in the solicitation. The work will consist of bank and slope protection of approximately one mile of shoreline herein referred to as �Brule Flats Bank Stabilization�. The work will consist of cutting, regrading, and compacting the existing bank to provide the proper slope for the placement of fill, geo textile fabric and stone. The contractor will be limited to the designated areas for operations. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications. See �Obtaining Solicitation Documents� below. Completion Date: The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP) and complete the work in within 365 calendar days after receipt of NTP.� Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed.� Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. Estimated Construction Costs: The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. NAICS Code: The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation, is 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a size standard for Small Business of $45,000,000. All contractors must be registered and have an active and verified account in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to receive a contract award from any DoD activity.
