Marion, IL VAMC STATEMENT OF WORK: Bariatric Hygiene Chair Description of Use: To be used in the Marion, IL VAMC 3M This solicitation uses a Brand Name or Equal Description of the product required.� This permits prospective contractors to offer products other than those specifically referenced by brand name.� All offers must work with existing equipment that has already been purchased and is currently in use at the station.� Minimum Technical Specifications: Vendor must meet or exceed all requirements as specified below. Required Parts +or Accessories: Back, Head, and Seat Cushion, Bed Pan and Accessories, 2 batteries and 1 Wall Charger Push Bar-In order to get the correct position for the caregiver, a full-length push bar is integrated (located) at the rear of the chair. Commode Container with Holder-The container can be applied by raising the seat upwards and lowering the commode container into position. Alternatively, it can also be placed in position from the back under the seat. Tiltable Seat-The seat has a comfortable design and support grooves which can be folded up for cleaning/disinfection and access to the commode container. Armrests-Provide support to the patient�s arms when sitting in the chair. Can be folded up to facilitate caregiver access for hygiene or for easier patient side transfers. Footrest-. Removeable and swing out for easy entry. Elevated footrest position provides a comfortable sitting position, lift access, and enables safe transportation to shower room/toilet. Anti-Swiveling Guides-Eliminate the risk of getting the patient�s feet jammed between the castor and the frame. Castors-Shower and commode chair should be equipped with four individual braked castors. Showering and Toileting-Product facilitates hygiene and toileting activities and is safe to use in/and or around moist environments. Can be used regardless of whether the toilet is attached to the wall or to the floor. Lifting Function � High/Low-The patient can, in a sitting position, be transferred and the chair can be adjusted to a suitable height over the toilet. The lifting/lowering movement is performed by a linear actuator driven by an electric motor. Care Raiser-A function which makes undressing and changing of incontinence pads of the patient easier. From a sitting position, a raising of the posterior parts of the patient and at the same time a backwards movement of the backrest is activated. These movements are synchronized to each other. Leg Support-Supports the patient�s legs, and also prevents the legs from getting ����������� jammed under the seat. Moves forward when the chair is adjusted to the reclined position. Driving Handles-Driving handles on the backrest give correct driving position for the caregiver. Maneuvering Handles-The maneuvering handles on the backrest help the caregiver to get the chair in the correct position over the toilet and in the shower. Castors-The shower and toilet chair is equipped with lockable castors. The castors will brake by pressing the castor lock tab down with your foot and are released by pressing a center tab. Safety Belt-Secure the patient with the safety belt if needed. The safety belt will secure the patient in the chair. Fasten at the knobs on either side of the backrest. Adjust the length by pulling the safety belt end by the buckle. Make sure the safety belt is close to the patient�s body. Back Pillow-An additional pillow to support the back.
