Description
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is a medical program that enhances readiness by promoting family and community health and resilience. The DAF FAP also advocates for non-violent communities. These objectives are accomplished through implementation of broad-based education and awareness activities, secondary and tertiary treatment, and victim advocacy. The DAF FAP also provides these services to US Navy, Marine Corps, and Army personnel at joint-base operations. The DAF FAP requires an evidenced informed treatment approach to reduce or prevent recidivism of domestic violence incidents. The program shall be utilized by military and civilian agencies worldwide and designed for male and female offenders of domestic violence. The DAF will improve continuity in service delivery by adopting an effective program with the DAF FAP treatment approach . Interoperability with the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Army FAPs is required to synchronize treatment processes reducing complications with offenders rehabilitation due to varying treatment approaches being utilized across Service Branches. Importantly, clients moving from or to a joint base must remain motivated and progress through treatment, on an annual basis. The program will be utilized by DAF FAP world-wide to provide comprehensive treatment to domestic violence offenders. It will allow for delivery of current, up to date information and training that is vital for rehabilitation of domestic violence offenders.
