- RESPONSES TO REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION Question 1 Wilson 5 Service Co. is looking to bid on this project and we will be working with both Enviro Vantage and Sevee & Maher Engineers to bid on this work. I wanted to check with you to see if you had a list of approved vendors concerning the construction portions of this project that needs to be completed for this area. We find it is allot easier and smoother to work with companies that have provided this type of service to the facilities in the past and wanted to check with you for any recommendations or suggestions on who to contact. We would really like to have them show up at the site visit so they can see what needs to be done for themselves and not have to guess from what info they get from the solicitation and from us so if you have suggestions or a list of approved vendors we would greatly appreciate if you could let us know so we can invite them to the walk through on Friday. Answer 1: The VA does not have a list of approved Vendors concerning the construction portion. Question 2 I hope this email finds you both well. Unfortunately, a representative from Rothco is unable to attend the site walk this Friday, the 31st, and I was hoping to schedule an alternative site visit for Tuesday, June 4th at 1:30. Please let me know if that will work for you, and if not, is there anotherĀ time that we could scheduleĀ a site walk? Answer 2: Second site visit was scheduled for Jun 4th at 1:30 and amendment 0001 was issued to advertise. Question 3 Will the interior restoration work be included in the scope of work, other than the steam leak repair? Answer 3: Per scope of work all existing interior finishes including walls, ceiling, and fixtures are to be removed. Building is to be gutted down to the existing studs. No other restoration work is expected. Building is expected be left as a shell. Question 4 Is there any existing thermal and/or acoustical insulation removal to be included in the removal of all interior finishes and fixtures? Answer 4: Yes, all items that may have been impacted by mold are expected to be removed. Question 5 Will the installation of new replacement thermal and/or acoustical insulation be included in the SOW? Answer 5: No insulation replacement is included in this scope of work. Question 6 Is there running water on site? Answer 6: Yes, this can be coordinated with the COR. Question 7 Is there electricity available on site? Answer 7: Yes, this can be coordinated with the COR. Question 8 Will temporary fence be required around the exterior of the building? Answer 8: Yes, project site is expected to be secure. This is typically achieved with a construction gate. Question 9 Will the contents of the building be removed by the VA prior to the start of the contract work? Answer 9: Yes, the VA shall empty building of materials. Question 10 Is the steam system still active in the building? Answer 10: Yes, the steam system is still active. Question 11 Are there steam system isolation valves for B67? Answer 11: TBD. Shutdown of steam system will be coordinated with the COR. Question 12 Will the addition of new insulation for steam pipe(s) be included in the SOW? Answer 12: Yes, any insulation removed for steam repairs will need to be replaced. Question 13 Will the interior dividing wall be removed and replaced? Answer 13: Interior dividing wall to remain if possible. If it is found to be too contaminated with mold or lead paint this can be discussed. Question 14 Can the exterior dentil work be replaced instead of scrapped to bare wood? Answer 14: Exterior work may be replaced with exact replica. Replica to have exact pattern and to be made with exact wood type as existing. A sample will need to be submitted to and approved by the VA. Question 15 There is missing or damaged trim and ornamental brackets. Will it be replaced or repaired? Answer 15: Exterior work may be replaced with exact replica. Replica to have exact pattern and to be made with exact wood type as existing. A sample will need to be submitted to and approved by the VA. Question 16 Please supply a detailed lead report identifying all lead based painted components. Answer 16: Attached to this Amendment 0002 (Attachment 1). Question 17 Is there any work to be done with the existing roof and roofing system? Answer 17: Roofing system is not included in this scope of work. Question 18 Is the VA hiring and paying for the 3rd party final inspections?
