- PROJECT TITLE: Canaveral Harbor Sand Bypass Project VI 2025, Brevard County, Florida. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to award a single firm fixed-price contract. The project consists of dredging approximately 1.5 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand from the beach at the Sand Bypass Dredging Area (SBDA) and transporting the excavated material to two beach placement area shown on the drawings, located approximately 0.5 miles to 9.5 miles south of the Cape Canaveral south jetty. The SBDA is located approximately 0.1 to 1.6 miles north of the Port Canaveral North Jetty and within Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS). Work on the beach may be performed from 1 November through 30 April. Project work also includes, but is not limited to, beach tilling, vibration monitoring, turbidity monitoring, and environmental species monitoring. At the SBDA, there will be no vibration monitoring, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) will conduct daily turtle and seabird monitoring. The Contractor is expected to coordinate with USFWS and Space Launch Delta 45 at CCSFS on a daily basis during construction. At the placement area, the Government will conduct daily turtle and shorebird monitoring. The work is located north and south of the Canaveral Harbor Entrance Channel in Brevard County, Florida. A pre-bid conference/site visit will take place and the date will be posted with the solicitation. Interested contractors are highly encouraged to attend and must follow conference registration and access requirements shown in the solicitation. NAICS Code is: 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $37 million. DFARS 236.204 Disclosure of the magnitude of construction: between $25,000,000.00 and 100,000,000.00. The anticipated period of performance associated with this requirement is: 665 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The contractor shall commence work within 60 calendar days after receipt of the NTP. THIS WILL BE AN UNRESTRICTED SOLICITATION. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on or about 25 June 2024 and bids will be due on or about 25 July 2024. Actual dates and times will be identified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be posted on the Sam.gov website at https://sam.gov/. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR on the Sam.gov website at https://sam.gov/. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing you with notification of any amendments to this solicitation.
