- Description
- The primary objective of the proposed procurement is to acquire a comprehensive service contract on two Steris Amsco 250LS Steam Sterilizers and one STERIS LAB 110 VRT SLD SD CAB STEAM in HELD. This will ensure that the sterilizers are maintained in the best operating condition and that any potential issues that may occur with the units will be addressed in a timely manner by a local field service representative. As there are many ongoing studies in the laboratory that are reliant on the sterilizers for successful execution, maintaining a comprehensive service contract will ensure that the units remain in working order and that any potential downtime is limited. The vendor will provide preventative maintenance, to include necessary replacement parts, as well as any unscheduled repairs that may be required during the contract period. The vendor will send a field service representative to provide quarterly maintenance on the units by replacing necessary maintenance parts and ensuring that the sterilizer meets the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintenance and safety standards. The vendor will also provide any repair labor and parts needed in the event that an unscheduled repair is required during the course of the service contract. Proposed Vendor: STERIS Corporation, 5960 Heisley Road, Mentor, OH 44060 Ph: 800-444-9009 Quarterly maintenance will be performed by a field service representative. The preventative maintenance visits will occur four times over the course of the 12-month contract period and will include replacement of necessary and worn maintenance parts and testing to ensure the units meet OEM standards. If the units were to require a repair outside of the regular maintenance repairs, the field service representative will provide the repair labor and parts in a timely manner. Task 1: Quarterly preventative maintenance An onsite visit from the vendor field service representative shall occur once each quarter of the service contract year. Preventative maintenance shall be conducted in accordance with Steriss Preventive Maintenance checklist. All parts, labor and travel necessary to conduct preventative maintenance shall be covered by the vendor. Optional Task 2: Unscheduled repair visits The vendor shall provide unscheduled repairs to the sterilizer as necessary over the course of the contract period. All parts, labor and travel necessary to conduct unscheduled repairs shall be covered by the vendor (with the exception of those outlined in Section 5(d) of Attachment B in the vendor Service Agreement). STERIS, the vendor from which we purchased the steam sterilizer, offers a comprehensive service plan that covers 4 preventative maintenance visits a year, as well as unscheduled repair parts and labor on the unit. In addition, there is a local field service representative able to promptly service the unit if and when a problem would occur. This minimizes the potential downtime for the sterilizer, which is a critical piece of equipment in the lab. Several studies are reliant on the sterilizer for media preparation, preparation of non-viable fungal test articles, sterilization of surgical instruments and laboratory supplies, and decontamination of waste. There are also several other steam sterilizer units in the building that have similar service contracts through this vendor, who has provided satisfactory and reliable service. Additionally, Steris is the only factory-authorized supplier of parts and service for Amsco brand equipment that will keep the sterilizer compliant with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(2) as cited inFAR 6.302-2, "" Unusual and compelling urgency."" Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement which shall be considered by the agency. Please forward the capability statement to Maria Shamburger, MShamburger@cdc.gov, Contracting Officer, Reference 2020-111720, Centers for Disease Control, Office of Acquisition Services, District at Chamblee, Building #2900, 2900 Woodcock Blvd, MS TCU-4, Atlanta, GA 30341. All vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is: www.sam.gov. The Government will review any/all capabilities statements information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response to this announcement will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, negotiations will be conducted withSTERIS Corporation, as the only source and a contract will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
