No further questions will be accepted. 1) The quotes due date is extended to 05/30/2024 at 0600 PDT. 2) Questions and Answers: QUESTION: Can the government provide a list of anticipated aquatic species (and other animals) that will be the subject of research at the WERC and the field locations? ANSWER: Refer to WERC website for examples of projects/animals studied. https://www.usgs.gov/centers/werc/ QUESTION: Will the government be furnishing all veterinary tools, controlled drugs, diagnostics, surgical equipment, etc. used or prescribed by the contractor veterinarian? ANSWER: Yes, however the services provided by the Attending Vet do not require any veterinary tools, controlled drugs, diagnostics, surgical equipment, etc. to be used or prescribed. QUESTION: In light of the Federal Holiday on 05/27/2024, will the government consider extending the RFQ due date? ANSWER: Yes. It will be extended to 05/30/2024 at 0600 PDT. QUESTION: I would like more information regarding my specific responsibilities, such as what species would be under my care, number of animals, goals of this project, etc. ANSWER: There will be no animals under your care. You will be expected to serve as the attending veterinarian for an animal care and use committee reviewing protocols, working on development of an animal care and use program for the western ecological research center. See: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal-welfare/attending-veterinarians for more information about what an attending veterinarian does. Western Ecological Research Center does not have any animal care facilities so those duties will not be required.
