- Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Mexico City will launch the solicitation on SAM.gov website when it is available. The U.S. Embassy Mexico City has a requirement for a professional contractor to refurbish and improve the original conditions of up to one (1) kitchen and two (2) full bathrooms in each of six (6) units at a U.S. Embassy Mexico City owned housing compound, for a total of six (6) kitchens and twelve (12) bathrooms �(cabinets, fixtures, drywalls, floor and wall tiles, sinks, counter tops, lamps, outlets, exhausts). The selected contractor will be fully responsible for performing all the necessary work including, but not limited to temporary partitions to isolate the renovation areas; removal of the existing kitchen and bathrooms cabinetry in six units of the same compound; replacement of drywall sheets, electrical, plumbing, masonry and finishing work; special disconnections of fixtures, appliances, and accessories are required to facilitate improvement. The refurbishment shall use only high-quality, first-class materials. This effort will have an estimated value between $100,000 and $250,000 U.S. dollars, per FAR 36.204 (c). A complete solicitation package with design, schematic drawings, specifications, site visit information and proposals deadline will be posted in the near future. All construction contractors that respond to the solicitation must be technically qualified and financially responsible to perform the work. At a minimum, each offeror must meet the following requirements when submitting their proposal: Be able to understand written and spoken English; Have an established business with a permanent address and telephone listing; Have the necessary personnel, equipment and financial resources available to perform the work; Have all licenses and permits required by local law; Meet all local insurance requirements; Have the ability to obtain a performance and guarantee bond and a payment bond, or to post adequate performance security, such as irrevocable letters of credit or guarantees issued by a reputable financial institution; Have no adverse criminal record; Have no political or business affiliation which could be considered contrary to the interests of the United States; Have good experience and past performance records; and, Identify specialized experience and technical competence required to complete the construction work in accordance with this solicitation. All contractors are to be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov� prior to submitting a quotation pursuant to FAR provision 52.204-7.
