Description
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES Background. The mission of the Air Force Medical (AFMED) Agency SG3OM, is to enable the efficient and effective procurement, sustainment and delivery of medical services, prevention tools, education, and treatment for domestic violence offenders, for the FAP. �It should utilize a Risk-Need-Responsivity model which incorporates empirically identified interventions which includes the following areas: Substance Abuse Emotion Mismanagement: Anger Jealousy Depression Shame Attachment Problems Attitudes Supportive of the Abuse of Women Problems in Self-Control Communication and Social Problem-Solving Skills and Mutual Conflict Antisocial Associates Motivation Adhering to Methods Appropriate to Adult Learning Styles Importance of Therapeutic Alliance Role of Treatment Readiness Incorporation of Strength-Based Elements Exploring Personal Identity Attention to Diversity and Culturally Competent Practice Scope. The program shall be an evidenced informed treatment approach to reduce or prevent recidivism of domestic violence incidents.� The program shall be utilized by military and civilian agencies worldwide and designed for male and female offenders of domestic violence.� Adopting an effective program with this treatment approach will improve continuity in service delivery. Synchronizing treatment processes can help reduce complications with offenders� rehabilitation due to varying treatment approaches being utilized across Service Branches.� Importantly, clients moving from or to a joint base must remain motivated and progress through treatment, on an annual basis.� The program will be utilized by Department of the Air Force (DAF) FAP world-wide to provide comprehensive treatment to domestic violence offenders.� It will allow for delivery of current, up to date information and training that is vital for rehabilitation of domestic violence offenders.
