Reagents for the Critical Care Medicine Departments (CCMD) Product Service Code: 6550 NAICS Code: 325413 Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 24-008747 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) intends to award a fixed price contract with a five (5) month base year to 10X Genomics, Inc, Pleasanton, California 94588-3260 on a sole source basis to provide various reagents to use with the Chromium X equipment. The Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) is currently working on a research project determining immune mechanisms in controlling responses to Pneumocystis infection. The project consists of immunocompromised and critically ill patients. Highly sensitive single-cell RNA-seq is a critical technology that will be performed in the Chromium X equipment. The merits of the technology have been validated through consistent studies. Proprietary 10X Genomics, Inc. reagents must be used with existing instrumentation. �There are no other known sources that can supply the various reagents. �Using any other reagents not compatible with the Chromium X equipment would potentially damage the equipment and cause erroneous testing results. �It is imperative to procure the 10X Genomics reagents to maintain consistency and continuity of the research project in support of patient care. � Products Chromium Next GEM reagents, Chromium Next GEM chips, Library Construction Kit, Dual Index Kit, Chromium Single Cell, and other reagents and supplies from 10 x genomics not limited to the above. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number on the email subject line, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Tasha Lowe, Contract Specialist, lowet2@mail.nih.gov by the due date May 26, 2024 and time marked in this notice.
