The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), hereby announces its intention to exercise an option year under Purchase Order No. 1232SA23P0046. This option constitutes a one-year extension on a firm-fixed price basis, awarded to the National Academies of Sciences, located in Washington D.C., for continued membership in the Federal Facilities Council. Anticipated Award Date: May 25, 2024 Please note that this contract includes a total of four option years. These option years have not been synopsized prior to this notice. The government reserves the right to exercise these options in the future, should it choose to extend the service. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine through the Federal Facilities Council (FFC) create involvement in identifying and advancing technologies, processes, and management practices that improve the performance of federal facilities over their entire life cycle, from planning to disposal. Since 1953 the FFC and its predecessor organizations have provided sponsoring agencies with a mechanism for jointly identifying and addressing mutual problems and concerns. The cost-sharing arrangement enables each agency to leverage its contribution and obtain a broad range of timely technical products that would cost far more if contracted individually. One of the FFC's primary objectives is to promote continuing cooperation and regular interchanges of information among the participating federal agencies and between the agencies and other elements of the facilities engineering and management community. This objective is fulfilled primarily through meetings, surveys, and networking activities organized and conducted by the staff and standing committees.
