STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENT The Gastroenterology Department at the Kansas City VAMC is requesting the procurement of a truFreeze Cryotherapy System. This procurement is necessary for endoscopy ablation procedures in the current hospital population. Background: Kansas City VAMC s Gastroenterology department is currently seeking to procure the truFreeze Spray Cryotherapy System. This system will be for the treatment of esophageal and airway diseases, such as Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer, by delivering liquid nitrogen (LN2) at -196°C. The truFreeze System is indicated for use as a cryosurgical tool in the fields of dermatology, gynecology, and general surgery to ablate benign (e.g., Barrett s esophagus with high grade dysplasia and/or low-grade dysplasia) and malignant lesions. The truFreeze Cryotherapy System shall include: Rapid AV Catheter technology Stainless steel material to decrease time to Liquid Nitrogen (LN2). Quick LN2 to decrease overall ablation time. Delivery of the LN2 to be at -196°C. The gi4000 electrosurgery unit shall have a flexible endoscopy and an Argon, Monopolar, Bipolar and Lavage functions all built into one compact unit. A torrent Irrigation pump for easy placement and transport on procedure carts. Four functions all-in-one all output choices designed specifically for flexible endoscopy procedures and designed to work in conjunction with endoscopic accessories. Proprietary ArC Smart linear argon beam to facilitate a robust arc length without sacrificing limited tissue depth. A miniature argon gas canister that fits directly into the unit. 7 modes of Monopolar are listed from Coagulate to Cut with several blended options in between. Ideal power curve for GI specific use. Be compatible with Boston Scientific injection gold probes both 7fr 92.3mm) x 210cm and 10fr (3.3mm) x 210 cm. A built-in, variable 6-speed pump that has adjustable flow rates. Compatible with Steris disposable tubing. The capability of igniting readily under clinical conditions within a range of default power settings. lengthens in a linear relationship to the power increase with minimal effect on depth of tissue injury. The capability to increase power settings in 2-5 watt increments to help complete desired therapy. Warranty information: Manufacturer shall warrant and imply that the items delivered here under are merchantable, fit for use for the particular purpose and will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of delivery. Contractor will replace all parts found defective within the period with cost of replacement, including any shipping costs, to be borne by the Contractor. Under no circumstance will any equipment covered by the guarantee be returned without (a) advance written notice to the contractor or (b) obtaining shipping instructions from the Contractor. Training, Computer or Technology Support: Any training to be done on-site for GI Staff. There is no charge for this training. Installation: Price of initial installation shall be included in the vendors bid/pricing. Shall not commence until all required product is received and until any unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. Installer shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, and materials needed for installation and remove all packaging from VA premises.
