- Description
- RFI #1 Fisher House Project (1) During the walkthrough it was discussed that the Interior Designer will be selecting furnishes for the Contractor to install: Please provide which materials are being provided by the VA and which materials the Contractor will be purchasing to allow accurate takeoff. Answer: Designer will be picking out fixtures, tile, paint colors, and any other decorative items needed to support the new furniture. They will need to know from the contractor what brands/price point they have included in your bid so they do not go over budget. (2) Please clarify whether existing furniture will be removed from Fisher House and stored by the VA or whether Contractor will be responsible for moving all furniture from work areas and storing (and whether VA will provide storage or if Contractor is to provide storage). Answer: The VA will NOT provide storage. Storage is on the contractor to provide. (3) Has there been any asbestos testing on tile and existing material; is there any asbestos expected in the Fisher House? Answer: We are testing now. Answer: Dining room flooring is hardwood as is the rest of the first-floor common areas except kitchen. (5) Are they provided with exact models and quantities in the RFI? Answer: Designer will be picking out fixtures, tile, paint colors, and any other decorative items needed to support the new furniture. They will need to know from the contractor what brands/price point they have included in your bid so they do not go over budget. (6) Will the shower be curb less for ADA accessibility? Answer: Yes (7) Will we be required to put up wall art, mirrors, decor accessories, etc.? Answer: Yes (8) Will vent caps get changed? Answer: Disposition of items is yet to be determined. (11) Are shop drawings required at the time of submission? If so, who will provide the plan? Answer: No, but selected contractor will have to provide submittals for approval. (12) How will payments be processed? (Net 30, after completion, or 20% deposit then rest of payment after completion)? Answer: Progress payments will be authorized as per the percentage of completion according to the schedule of values.
