Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakhurst, NJ intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a fixed price contract, on a sole-source basis to Optikos Corporation (CAGE: 0M430 (USA)). Extensive market research was conducted to identify potential suppliers of Lens Measurement Systems. The findings confirmed that Optikos Corporation is the exclusive manufacturer of this type of lens measurement equipment, and their technology aligns seamlessly with the Government's testing requirements. Other companies investigated were unable to meet all salient characteristics of the required Lens Measurement System. While they all provided lens imaging systems, they weren't able to provide key factors; such as accommodations for the types and sizes of lenses needed to be measured. These other systems also didn't have the required software packages, or all of the physical equipment that the Photonics Lab would need. Optikos Corporation is the sole source of the OpTest Lens Measurement System, making it the only viable option for the Government's specific testing needs. The seamless integration ensures compatibility with existing systems and minimizes disruptions to operations. Optikos is the only company that can do a one to one replacement and upgrade of the current system.� NAWCADLKE intends to procure these items under the authority of 10 USC 3204(a)(1) as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. No solicitation package is available for this procurement. This notification is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for an award of a contract.
