Description
Scope of Work: Loch Raven Building Television Replacement 2237: 512-24-1-849-0009 General: The Loch Raven VA Medical Center requests removal and replacement of wall mounted televisions and required components for full functionality of screens, due to risk assessment 45 wall mount reinforcements relocated as well in building 1 of 3900 Loch Raven Blvd. Baltimore, Md. (OEM: PDi Communications medTAB components) About the site: The Loch Raven VA Community Living & Rehabilitation Center specializes in providing rehabilitation and recreation therapy for our recovering veterans. The main building also provides hospice, nursing home care and care for patients with Alzheimer s. Scope of Work: Demolition and reinforcement Contractor to supply all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials necessary to remove all television wall mounts, relocate and secure reinforcement bracing as requested by Loch Raven Medical Center campus. A detailed list will be provided by the facilities and engineering supervisor located in building #4. This list will be used to validate compliance and verification. Removing all televisions and articulating arms without damaging the televisions or the arms Inspections are to be conducted periodically upon award of contract. Contractor is to confirm all med gas is shut off prior to beginning work. Status of wall and security of structure shall be documented for record. Contractor will identify and document reinforcement bracing locations identified by maintenance supervisor. Contractor is to remove all televisions and mounting hardware from the walls in designated areas All reinforcement bracing is located inside the wall and will need to be relocated if it is in operating proximity to the med gas connection (arms cannot be close enough to connection to make contact Mounting hardware should be removed replaced inspected for integrity and should pass visual inspection to be determined by maintenance supervisor. Wires/cables and secure points are to be inspected for frays and pinch points. Replace any damaged terminations or retention brackets. Replace any damaged insulation or covering after inspections. Contractor to identify potential structure integrity during inspections. Install Televisions Contractor to supply all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials necessary to install televisions in building #1 CLC only. All televisions will be securely mounted to the wall by way of articulating arm with no operating proximity to any med gas connections. The mounting hardware is to be secured to the building structure. A detailed list will be provided by the facilities and engineering supervisor located in building #4. This list will be used to validate compliance and verification. Installing of televisions should be as follows: Inspections will be conducted periodically upon award of contract. Contractor will inspect structure and test prior to mounting hardware. Contractor will refer any questions or concerns to the supervisor in building #4 in writing. Contractor to repair any damages caused during the install. Remove all debris, electronics and discarded components related to the contract from property and dispose of properly. Replace insulation or covering after inspections as requested. All televisions are to be mounted securely to building structure by way of articulating arm outside the operating proximity of any med gas connections. Each room/floor/section must be coordinated through the engineering department and nurse manager. Dust control is paramount, and areas will thoroughly visually inspect after work performed. Contain debris, with dust barriers. Coordination, schedules and phasing should be sent in writing electronically before beginning work in area. Safety Precautions: The Contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal, State and local legal requirements regarding workers health and safety. The requirements include but are not limited to, those found in Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) statutes and regulations, such as applicable provisions of Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 1910 and 1926. Contractor is solely responsible for determining the legal requirements that apply to activities and shall ensure safe and healthful working conditions for its employees. Contractor shall assume the responsibility to guard against causing of fires and/or explosions and to protect Government Property. The Contractor shall perform the work in a manner consistent with the area security and fire safety regulations especially about exits and exit way access. Utility shutdowns shall not compromise security, communication or fire safety for occupants. No flammable liquids shall be stored or used in the medical center. The necessary number and appropriate types of portable fire extinguishers are required per National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 10 and NFPA 241. All necessary precautions shall be taken by the contractor to prevent accidental operation of any existing smoke detectors or sprinkler heads. HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REPORTING: A. The Contractor shall maintain hazardous material inventories and material safety data sheets (MSDS) for all hazardous materials (as defined in CFR 1910.120, 40 CFR s 355, 370, & 372) to be stored and used on this Medical Center. Hazardous materials must be inventoried when received and at the project s completion. The amounts used shall be maintained for the project duration. B. Hazardous Materials Inventories, Material Safety Data Sheets and material quantities used shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer for approval and copies furnished to the Contracting Officers Technical Representative. C. In the event of a spill, Contractor shall immediately notify the Contracting Officer s Technical Representative as well as the Contracting Officer. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the expense of any cleanup and / or damage resulting of such spill, and the cleanup shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of 40 CFR Part 761.
